THE SCIENCE BEHIND COLOUR THERAPY

One of the oldest therapeutic systems used for the treatment of dis-eases.

CURES DIS-EASES

Color Therapy, also known as chromotherapy is a method of treatment that uses the visible spectrum of electromagnetic radiation (light and colour) to cure diseases and impact the nervous and hormonal system through the eyes and their direct connections to the brain.

ANCIENT THERAPY

Healing with colour is one of the oldest therapeutic systems. It has been used by the ancient civilisations of India, Egypt and China for the treatment of diseases. In the west, the awareness of colour and psychological functioning dates back to the late 18th century.

80% of all information is received through the eyes. Every colour we perceive has a measurable frequency in the colour spectrum and the eyes translate light frequencies (colours) into electrical signals that then travel at high speed to the brain, which controls the nervous system, emotional responses, circadian rhythm and the release of hormones. 

COLOUR AFFECTS THE BODY

Colour has a direct affect on the body’s emotional, mental and physical response. Longer wavelength colours such as red and orange feel arousing or warm, whereas shorter wavelength colours such as blue and purple feel relaxing or cool. Red light raises the heart rate, while blue light lowers it.

The easiest way to restore peace within yourself and return to health, is with colour therapy. It can help treat mental distress and even physical pain. It helps with issues such as anxiety and aggression to seasonal affective disorder (SAD), general happiness, better concentration and sleep.

STIMULATES OR RELAXES

Scientifically proven, exposure to the colours blue and green prompts the release of the hormone cortisol which stimulates and wakes us, and inhibits the release of melatonin. In turn, exposure to the colours orange and red releases melatonin into the bloodstream and make us wind down.

Mindful colouring is a powerfully relaxing experience and is extremely helpful in letting go of worries and anxious thoughts, especially when coping with difficult situations. Mindful colouring is a form of art therapy that calms your nervous system and increases your focus while exercising your brain and expressing your creativity.

Virginie Esprit

Hi, I am Virginie Esprit. I am a certified Transformation Meditation Teacher, Trauma Informed Therapist and Energy Healer. For over 15 years now, I have been helping individuals manage chronic illness, release trauma, reduce anxiety and develop their spirituals gifts.

 

I have created these colouring books to bring beauty, peace and healing to you. All images are infused with love and the intention to create a better world by letting go of worry, stress and anger.
